Pandemic Unemployment Assistance
As part of the federal CARES Act, the new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program helps unemployed Californians who are business owners, self-employed, independent contractors, have limited work history, and others not usually eligible for regular state UI benefits who are out of business or services are significantly reduced as a direct result of the pandemic. Financial Aid
The Department of Education released emergency guidelines regarding the use of federal financial aid funds. As long as students are enrolled and working towards their degree, Pell and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) funding will not be impacted. In sum, at the discretion of your university, you can remain on financial aid as long as you complete your coursework.
Contact the financial aid office for questions regarding financial resources if asked to leave campus, possible funding opportunities.
